The Benefits of Microneedling at Home: Unlock Your Skin's Potential

Whether you're a skincare beginner or an expert looking to level up your routine, home microneedling is a game-changer to not only treat skin concerns such as dark spots, fine lines, dryness, and uneven texture but is also incredibly beneficial for preventing the signs of aging. If you’re ready to uplevel your at-home skincare regimen with Microneedling, the following is everything you need to know to get started.

Benefits

Enhanced Product Absorption

If you’re buying serums, microneedling is a must in your arsenal. Microneedling creates microchannels on the surface of your skin, allowing your serums to penetrate more effectively. As a result, the active ingredients in your favorite skincare products will work harder and deliver faster results.

Microneedling works best with active ingredients such as Stem Cells, peptides, growth factors, and hyaluronic acid. These are the types of ingredients will maximize the effects of microneedling to stimulate collagen, speed up cell turnover, lift dark spots, smooth fine lines, even skin texture, unclog pores, and firm, plump and hydrate your skin. I like to apply our EGF Activating Serum on before I microneedle, then finish with our HA Hydrating Serum and Advanced Retinol Serum. You want to apply products thinnest to thickest, our EGF Serum has a more watery consistency, and the other 2 serums have a thicker consistency and are perfect for applying post-microneedling. You can feel the serums seeping deep into your skin. I like to finish with our Shiunko Face Oil to seal in the active ingredients and prevent water loss.

Stimulate Collagen Production

Collagen is the holy grail of youthful skin, and microneedling stimulates its production by creating micro-injuries on the skin's surface, triggering the body's natural healing response, and prompting the production of new collagen fibers. While at-home microneedling needles may not stimulate collagen production to the same extent as professional treatments, they can still contribute to some level of collagen production and provide benefits such as smoothing fine lines and preventing signs of aging with regular use. The micro-injuries caused by at-home microneedling can stimulate the skin's natural collagen production process, improving skin texture and appearance. However, it is important to note that the depth and intensity of collagen stimulation achieved through at-home microneedling may be less significant compared to professional treatments with longer needles Regular and consistent use of at-home microneedling, following proper guidelines and safety precautions, can yield visible improvements in the skin over time

Reduction in Hyperpigmentation (dark spots):

The micro-injuries created by the tiny needles encourage the skin to ramp up its healing process, which can help fade dark spots, especially when paired with active ingredients like Growth Factors, Retinols, and AHA’s that speed cell turnover. Whether it's from acne, sun damage, or other skin concerns, microneedling is a game-changer in revealing a more even and radiant complexion.

Improved Skin Texture

Microneedling is a powerful tool for minimizing the look of enlarged pores and uneven skin texture. By promoting cell turnover and collagen synthesis, microneedling will leave your skin smoother, plumper, and more refined.

Cost-Effective and Convenient

Microneedling at home is an empowering and effective way to transform your complexion. One of the biggest advantages of microneedling at home is its cost-effectiveness and convenience. StackedSkincare's at-home microneedling tool makes treating your skin at home effective and affordable that will give you the results you’re looking for.

How to Properly Use

Choose the right device and needle size:

When microneedling at home, it's essential to use a device with needles no longer than 0.3mm. These smaller needles ensure a pain-free experience while still delivering outstanding results. For larger needle sizes of 0.5mm or greater, we recommend consulting a professional to ensure your safety and the best outcome.

Shop from reputable sources:

Your skin deserves the best, so always purchase your microneedling device from a reputable source or a trusted medical office. Knowing your source ensures that you use a high-quality and safe tool for your skincare routine.

Consistency is key:

To achieve optimal results, you should use your device daily, but if that is not convenient for you, a minimum of 3-5 times a week. Consistency is the key to unlocking your skin's potential and revealing a radiant complexion. The more your roll, the more you glow!

Replace your roller head regularly:

For the best results, it's important to replace your MicroNeedling Roller Head every month. This ensures that the needles remain sharp and effective. Dull needles can damage the skin, and won't deliver the same transformative benefits, so keep your tool fresh for maximum efficacy.

Avoid microneedling over acne or open sores:

To prevent the spread of bacteria, it's crucial not to microneedle over acne or open sores on your skin. Simply avoid those areas during your treatment. If you have a severe acne breakout, avoid Microneedling until the inflammation has calmed down.

Mindful technique for best results:

When rolling your device, adopt a gentle and mindful technique. Start with clean skin and apply your favorite serum before beginning. Roll over your skin vertically, horizontally, and diagonally, ensuring you cover every side of your face, chin, lips, forehead, and neck. Afterward, apply a second layer of serum for maximum absorption. You can even layer another serum or incorporate a nourishing retinol cream into your nighttime routine. In my experience, when using active ingredients like retinol and retin a, it is always best to patch test before applying to your entire face. To patch test, you want to apply a small amount of product on your cheek and allow it to sit overnight, and see if you have any reaction in the morning. If there is no reaction, you can apply it to your entire face the next use.

Sterilize and store properly:

After each use, it's crucial to sterilize your roller. I keep a spray bottle of 91% alcohol in my bathroom and spray the entire device, including the handle and roller head, after each use. Replace the cap, and store it for the next use.
